Hello, I’m Christine Lee Smith!

I’m a photographic artist, spiritual director, and educator. I make work that asks deep questions about hard things, and seeks to find the beauty on the other side of difficulty.

I hold a MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. I offer spiritual direction to creatives, who work across all mediums, and occasionally offer workshops online or in-person.

I also hold a MFA in Visual Art. I care and think deeply about what we make, why we make, and how that shapes who we are to ourselves and the communities around us.

This Substack is where these two worlds of creativity and spirituality collide. Some essays are memoire-esk, others dip into photographic theory, and some are the result of encounters I have in the spiritual direction room or from behind the theory.
